The Kakenya Center for Excellence seeks to empower and motivate young girls through education to become agents of change and to break the cycle of destructive cultural practices in Kenya such as female genital mutilation and early forced marriage. Kakenya’s story and her vision are captured in her inspiring 2013 TED Talk, which has more than 2.3 million views.
